Organic India sets the stage for the 2021 DhartiMitr Awards; Receives over 100+ nominations from farmers across the country

Recognizing the relentless contribution of farmers across the country, Organic India, an innovative global leader working with thousands of small family farmers who cultivate sustainable organic farmland, today officially announced the 2021 DhartiMitr Awards. The award aims to recognize outstanding contributions from individual organic farmers by congratulating them with cash prizes and citations on February 20, 2022 at the Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Awards. Sharing details on the 2021 DhartiMitr Awards, Subrata Dutta, Group Managing Director, Organic India, said: “We conceptualized the DhartiMitr Awards with the sole aim of recognizing the invaluable service that organic farmers provide to agriculture, to ecology and Indian society as a whole. As an organization, we are committed to being a living embodiment of love and awareness in action. We work with thousands of marginalized family farmers and wild artisans in India, supporting the regeneration of their communities and land through organic farming. Our goal has always been to do business in a sustainable manner and establishing an environmentally sustainable model in the country. We believe that empowered and informed farmers will strengthen the entire organic farming ecosystem and therefore this recognition will certainly help build the confidence of our most important stakeholders. Earlier this year, Organic India invited submissions from farmers across the country and received an overwhelming response. Currently, the selection process is ongoing and jury members will review each application, followed by a visit from the farm and a personal interview. Four best nominations will be shortlisted and congratulated at the awards ceremony. Organic India engages with over 2,500 farmers to create supportive economic, environmental and social ecosystems, as well as to promote healthy lifestyles and conscious living through bio-regenerative farming practices. Such a process benefits the environment in every crop cycle. Image: The DhartiMitr Award aims to recognize the outstanding contributions of individual organic farmers
