This demo, that is actually a split cd, was recomended to us because we are black metal lovers. This cd consists of two Belgian black metal bands: Kludde and Wanhoop. We never heard of these guys before but we must say that this is very interesting work.

Moving on to the second half of this demo, black metal band: Wanhoop. They play a very slow & dark type of black metal. Very different than the previous band Kludde.
They start their half off with "River Of Despair", a very slow song with violins and very eerie sounds. Most of the songs are like that; weird and mysterious. The vocalist does a very nice job, he sounds like a lost soul!! But if you read the lyrics carefully you'll see that he's really longing for death; a rather creepy track I'm sure. This guy sings his songs with a lot of passion; you know he's really serious about his work. The following songs are very slow and almost monotonous, but it changes quite a lot, the only difference is that it stays slow, the songs fit each other nicely. Track twelve, "Obus Desperandum", reminds me of what a Marilyn Manson song would sound like but it's rather catchy though; a woman's voice taking the lead on this one. This album ends with our lead vocalist singing, almost talking on this song. Bells are added to give this song, "Ultimate Pleasure", a bit more of an edge, and believe us, it did!!!!

This was a rather interesting album to listen to, mostly because the bands are from the same genre, yet they sound very different from each other. (You'll find the review of the other half of this split cd here)
