With "Life Is Killing Me" Type O Negative finally returned with their long awaited studio album. They came up with a strong 74 minute album, full of ear catching songs. They are celebrating typical doom rock riffs la Black Sabbath, blended with sort of gothic, spherical keyboards and very tight rhythms, sometimes psychedelic and punk-ish attitudes. The lyrics tell about pain, depression and death. Steele reckoning with the past, full of sarcasm but also with great sense of humour.

I just like to pick out some songs of the album which are a bit outstanding for me. After the slow intro "Uncle Freddy died?" Type O Negative rocks off with "I Dont Wanna Be Me" which will be released on a single. I like the surprisingly happy touch of "Todds Ship Gods", which is a song dedicated to his father who died when Type O Negative recorded the album "World Coming Down". Or the follower "(We Were) Electrocute" with the psychedelic sound reminding me of The Beatles. With the punk rocking "I Like Goils!" Steele responds to the world of homosexuals that he is heterosexual....For myself, it took quite a bit to get into the album, because Im not really a fan of the band. But even if Im not, I must say they did an awesome work here and can recommend to check this album!
