   THANATOS

Black Lotus Records

rating: 4/5

1. Lambs To The Slaughter
2. Undead.Unholy.Divine
3. Eraser
4. Beyond Terror
5. The Sign Of Sadako
6. Servants Of Hatred
7. Devour The Living
8. Godforsaken
9. The Suffering...
10. ...The Sweet Suffering

"Their most complete and most extreme album ever!" This is written as one of the selling points for this album. I agree a 100% with this statement. After two years of waiting, Thanatos is back with their newest release: "Undead.Unholy.Divine".

This album has fast and aggressive tracks, melodic yet heavy tracks and combinations of fast and melodic ones. In my opinion the fast and aggressive songs are killer! I like them better than the slower/melodic ones, they have very fast guitar riffs, aggressive drums with blast beats (two thumbs up!) and unholy vocals.
What I also liked about this album is that some of the tracks start off very slowly and then all of a sudden the song gets an overdose of adrenaline. From nowhere, a melodic song turns into a very brutal one. The slower/melodic parts are very much welcome, in some of the songs they fit perfectly. They also let the band show off their musicianship. The guitar solos are very awesome, the vocals unholy, and the drumwork killer! My favorite tracks on this album are track "Lambs To The Slaughter", "Undead.Unholy.Devine", "Beyond Terror", "Servants Of Hatred", "Devour The Living" and "...The Sweet Suffering". This album also contains a very funny outro.

Last words: This is very good album, the fans will not be disappointed. As I said before, I like the fast and aggressive songs and the brutal songs with a little of melody are killer.
