The Finnish band was formed Summer 2000 and called Confusion Red by this time. When Petri Sääskö (g), Ilkka Järvenpää (v) and Tape Kanerva (d) wanted to record their first demo CD they asked Sami Kukkohovi (bass player of Finnish metal band Sentenced) to play bass on this demo as a session musician since they didn't have a regular bass player. During the recordings Sami decided to join the band as a full member. In Summer 2001 the band changed their name into Solution 13 and recorded their second demo CD. From this demo a track called "No Reply" got released on the compilation CD "Unerhört" of the German metal mag "Rock Hard". In November 2001 Solution 13 entered the Oulu based Neo-studio with the help of producer Kari Vähäkuopus to record their full-length debut album called "Solution 13".

The band describes the style as material that consisted of aggressive metal riffs but yet maintained certain groove in it. And certainly it is, sort of alternative heavy metal with Finnish vibes. 11 Songs that make your head banging, but I can't really tell any outstanding songs, it's kinda all heard before. If you like heavy alternative stuff, you will surely like this album and should give it a try.
