"Bringer Of Blood" is Six Feet Under's seventh album release. Surely not their greatest release, but it is a groovy album with up and downs. Chris Barnes is responsible for the sound and I think he did a great job. First thing you will notice when listening to the album are his dominating vocals. It took me several spins to get used to it. I like the idea of the vocals being such an important part, from the deep growling up to the high screech, but it still leaves space for all instruments. As usual, Six Feet Under used mainly simple song structures with deadly grooving riffs. Even the lyrics are sort of simple, sometimes Chris only uses a few lines, like in the title track "Bringer Of Blood". Still the song has a great effect that hits you right in the face. "America The Brutal" with anti-American lyrics, surprises with some punkish vibes. Myself, I prefer the faster songs like the heavy grooving "Murdered In The Basement", the "Blind and Gagged" and the "Escape From The Grave". The weakest song on the album is definitly the hidden track with no name, kinda cool, but not really my pint of beer. Then "Braindead" followed by "When Skin Turns Blue", even after the 20th spin I can't get into them. But tastes are thankfully different, so I can recommend to check this out if you don't mind some punkish and doomy vibes along with American death metal.

If you can catch the limited edition of the album, you will get a German version of the title track called "Bringer Des Blutes" as a bonus. Feels like a nice homage to the German fans and their label Metal Blade.
