32 years, more than 10 studio albums and unaccountable gigs have made Molly Hatchet one of the most active bands ever in rock history. Named after axe murderess from the XVII. century, Molly Hatchet was formed in 1971 by guitarists Dave Hlubek, Duane Roland, Dave Holland, bassplayer Bonner Thomas and drummer Bruce Crump. I don't think they dared to dream about that their band will be still around 30 years later, touring around a world, giving a great time to fans of southern rock. Though the line-up has changed through the years (the original vocalist Danny Joe Brown left in 1997 for health reasons), it can't hold Molly Hatchet back from going on with this kind of music. Of course the best market for them is the US but they have many fans in Europe as well. This is the reason why they decided to record their second official live album on their tour in Germany with Company Of Snakes in 2001. Btw, they consider Germany as their "home away from home".

The double cd playing time is around 110 minutes but it doesn't hold any single boring moment. The audience had a great time during the recordings and they bring the atmosphere of warm summer nights into our rooms. This music is based on a life style that we can love or hate but one thing is sure, it sets you free. Otherwise this collection of their songs could be a proper best of album as well since they are playing songs from almost all of their albums, starting with their self-titled debut, released in 1978 up to their latest effort, "Kingdom Of XII" that came out in 2000. They are also playing two cover songs, one from Allman Brothers Band ("Dreams I'll Never See") and another from Rolling Stones ("Tumbling Dice").
All of their songs have the same impact on their listeners and the years that passed between their creations don't matter. Basically they are playing southern rock but they are roaming between the borders of country, boogie or some dirty rock music as well. Exactly this is why they have survived 3 decades and have fans from all ages and they are still popular. They will never be out-of-date. Molly Hatchet simply rocks.

Now only some preparations are left before you start listening to the the album. Put the beers in the fridge in time and place the rocker near to the cd player. Lean back and be aware not to turn the volume too loud while you are singing along.
