With the debut "...The Infinite" Lunaris is the newcomer of 2002 for me. This band consists of excellent musicians. M, Balfori (ex-1349), Azarak (Spiral Architect & Satyricon session), Ray, Maztema (Spiral Architect and ex-Manitou) and Janos (V.E.G.A.), who replaced Asgeir Mickelson (Spiral Architect & Borknagar). The debut still features Asgeir.

Elitist/Earache labels them as intricate astral metal, what ever this should mean. The album consists of 10 genuine progressive songs with a great epic, black metal atmosphere and some straight metal parts. Each song in its complex individuality is a jewel. The amazing technical elements won't give you an easy listening, so you need a few extra spins to get into the album. Therefore you won't get bored that fast, because with each listen you'll hear more details. You will also find an excellent combination of the extreme vocals with clean ones. The Lunaris members with all their intricacy do not forget the metal heart. The album is not technically exaggerating nor overloaded with extreme rhythm changes in typical prog manner. It lets you bang along.

If you are into bands like Arcturus, this album will give you the right pleasure. For sure, we will hear more of Lunaris in future, "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum" ("If you want peace, prepare for war")
