This demo, that is actually a split cd, was recomended to us because we are black metal lovers. This cd consists of two Belgian black metal bands: Kludde and Wanhoop. We never heard of these guys before but we must say that this is very interesting work.

The first half of the demo is from Kludde. They play a raw, fast and melodic type of black metal. The first track (Intro) of this cd wasn't that catchy, rather boring though. The following song "De Vredoken Waarheid", jumps in right after the intro. This song starts off very fast and suddenly dives into slow gear.
This demo contains many songs like that. Uglúk has a very good voice but he can use some vartiation 'cause he sounds kinda monotonous all the time, despite of the rawness of the tracks. Even though they don't have of a keyboard player they have some very good melody in most of the tracks. The 5th track, "De Vloek", starts off very fast and the singer adds a little variation in his voice, avoiding the song from becoming dull.

Our favorite tracks on this demo were number 5 & 7, there should have been more songs like these on the demo. They should add faster parts to their songs. The tracks with these fast parts sound better, but they shouldn't leave those slow melodic parts out.

This was a rather interesting album to listen to, mostly because the bands are from the same genre, yet sound very different from each other.

(You'll find the review of the other half of this split cd here)
