H8 For The Masses
rating: 4/5

1. H8 For The Masses
2. Walls
3. Don't Forget
4. Raging Hate
5. Never Give Up
6. We Are Amused
7. Time For Revenge!
8. Rrrroar
9. Burn In Hell
10. ...But The Fight Goes On

It took Hate Squad seven years to finally return with a new album. I can't resist starting with a complaint about the outcome of the booklet. It looks cheap; actually I find this suicide hommage quite childish. One could misinterpret it and think the album is as dull as the booklet. But it isn’t bad...

Coming from the thrash metal scene, Hate Squad can't deny their roots. This album is quite core influenced. It's good to hear that they still know how to groove. The songs mainly are kept in midtempo, but still kick your butt. It takes quite a few spins to get into the album. Especially Burkhard Schmitt's aggressive vocals are a love/hate thing which has given me a hard time, but once the barrier was taken, it was easy going. Altogether it's a good but not outstanding album. All ten songs are on the same level quality wise; if I had to pick one or two songs for you to check, then I would go for "Walls" and "Time For Revenge".
