Grave are a legend of Swedish death metal, one of the bands that have invented the style etc. etc. That's all true, and I won't even try to argue with that. But after listening to their comeback album entitled "Back From The Grave" all my excitement about the band's return from their grave disappeared. First of all, it sounds like after years of inactivity the guitarists have forgotten how to play synchronously. Their playing is absolutely nothing. And, which is worse, material is varied from bad to mediocre: all songs are mid-tempo, and there's not much difference between them. Same riffs, same vocal parts, same songs. The only strong point on "Back From The Grave" is Skogsberg's trademark sound, but is sound quality more important than songs?..
