I was very excited when I got this cd. I'm familiar with the work of God Dethroned and I like a lot of their work. I was curious about this album because I heard a lot of good things about it but I also heard some negative things about it. Here's what I thought of "The Lair of the White Worm".

"The Lair of the White Worm", is aggressive and has speed. It has a lot of melody and it blends in nicely with aggressive parts. This album contains awesome guitar riffs & solos and very aggressive drum work. I like the fast speed and the mix of fast and melodic songs on this album. "Nihilism" is good example; it starts off very fast and then all of sudden out of nowhere comes this guitar solo. Very melodic and the speed drops down to a slower pace but the song picks its speed back up. I like these songs very much, that doesn't mean that the slower and more melodic songs suck. I like the melodic solos in between the fast songs and the sudden changes from a mid tempo to very fast tempo. It gives the song a kick of energy. The other thing I liked about this album is that some of the tracks have very dominating guitar riffs.
My favorite track on this album is "Nihilism". I can listen to that song all day, it has the speed, a great solo and it is varied. The other tracks I liked were track: "Arch Enemy Spain", "The Lair Of The White Worm", "Loyal To The Crown Of The God Dethroned", "Last Zip Of Spit" and "Salt In Your Wounds".

This album is very diverse, it has all of the following: aggressiveness, melody, awesome guitar work, brutal drums and killer vocals. I don't have much to complain on this album.
