I had mixed feelings when I put the new Final Breath cd into my cd-player. I know the band for years but their new album cover looked horrible and had a poor title. Should I laugh or cry? - I hesitated. After the first listening I came to the conclusion they improved but stayed still in the middle-class.

Again, my problem is that their influences are still too obvious. You can clearly hear their love of bands like Slayer, Destruction and Metallica. But this time this old-school thrash metal mixture has been spiced up with more modern sounding characteristics that Machine Head and alikes use and also has been inspired by the Swedish melodic death wave. The result is very dynamic and powerful music with great melody lines. I know it all sounds great but overall I am left with the feeling "I have heard it before".
Andy Classen was the producer of the album and though the sound got stronger it also brought the typical, well-known sound aspects to it.

Just like with their previous efforts, thrash metal fanatics will find the new Final Breath album worth to listen to but if you want to hear something more original, keep searching for something else.

"Let Me Be Your Tank" has been released in two formats. You can buy the single cd or you can buy the double-cd version where their first album, "Flash-Burnt Crucifixes" and their demo from 1995, "The First Demo" were added as bonus.
