This is the first time I hear of the band End Of Green and I was well surprised to find out that this is their fourth album. Oh well, it has a positive point not knowing the older material, I'll concentrate on the album without comparing it to their other albums. Calling themselves a depressed subcore band, End Of Green is quite melancholic, but with their subcore elements they really know how to rock. Nearly every song is grooving and ear catching, the lyrics seem to be a very important part for End Of Green. Mike (Michelle) Huborn's expressive, characteristic vocals present sad stories and ask the questions of life. The only song I can't get into is "Queen Of My Dreams". After four grooving songs I somehow get bored after listening 2/3 of that song, 9 minutes is just too long for this melancholic one, and esp. the end gets a bit on my nerves. For me it's definitely the weakest song, even if that one provides a little change on the album. Now you could ask me what about "Emptiness/Lost Control"? Oh well, even if it is over 11 minutes long, at the end of a quite exciting album it's nice to chill out, but not in between. :p

I don't really like to compare this band with any other, but if I really have to I would say they remind me a bit of early Drown, with a dash of HIM, Paradise Lost, Sisters Of Mercy, Type O Negative, etc... hehe... confused? Well if you like melancholic, gloomy, doomy stuff mixed with massive and crunchy guitar sound, I recommend to give them a try.
