In the last few years metalcore became extremely popluar, even in Greece. Negative Creeps is the living proof for that. But the increasing number of bands causes the increasing number of average or boring albums as well.

Negative Creeps were said to be a thrashcore/satancore band. I had not heard any band who played satancore, so it made me curious. But I have to tell you, in the first place I thought they were kind of a satanist band, but as I read the promo letter, I came to the conclusion I was wrong. Their aim was to mix nu metal trashcore with black and death metal, breeding a new subgenre, satancore. This was their goal but with "In Uterus Rebirth" I do not think they managed to achieve it.

Their music is rather strongly thrash influenced metalcore, in the vein of Machine Head and Fear Factory and their nu-metalish parts remind me to Slipknot. Heavy, shrieking thrash riffs, massive sound and sometimes Rob Flynn-like vocals are the most general characteristics of the first half of the album. Then comes the change.
The second half of the album contains the black and death metal influenced songs. The blacker ones are the "Last Of The Ancients" and "Nipple Torture", while the death metal elements are shown in "In Uterus Rebirth", "Nipple Torture" and "One Hate".

Most of the time I like bands who are blending different styles in their music. As a natural aftermath of building up your songs from different genres, some songs have got more from this or that style, that is pretty normal. But in the case of Negative Creeps it did not work out the way it should have. Their album is divided into two parts and you cannot find an overall concept behind it. And neither half is unique or original.
