When I had the chance of doing a review of Cattle Decapitation's new album "Humanure", I immediately took it! I'm very much familiar with their music and I found their title and coverwork very creative & fitting. Because of their very "creative" artwork the album got banned in Germany.

The album begins with "Scatology Domine", an instrumental opera intro played on the piano. A minute after the classical intro they begin their attack with "Humanure". This track just like all the others is very fast and brutal, filled with agressive vocals, string & drum work. The tracks have a lot of variation, which prevents it from becoming monotonous. I love the combination and variation of the vocals/back vocals, they are the complete opposite of each other but fit quite nicely together. The string work is "catchy" but always brutal. I like the riffs and love the solos. The drum work's very agressive and diverse, it goes from fast to ultra fast. Between the songs they sometimes add a slow part and then quickly pick up their speed back, a good example is the track "Lips & Assholes". It begins very fast & brutal then drops in its speed and is then followed by a very melodic yet fast solo. Then the speed completely drops and remains like that till the end of the song and is quickly followed by the outro "Men Before Swine". When you hear the outro you'll know or get an idea what they mean by the title. The tracks I personally would recommend are: "Bukkake Tsunami", "Applied Human Defragmentation" and "Lips & Assholes".

All in all I think this is a very good album, these guys definitely took a big step forward with "Humanure", production wise I'm also satisfied.
